HIS WORD…I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU ORPHANS; I WILL COME TO YOU. IN A LITTLE WHILE THE WORLD WILL NO LONGER SEE ME, BUT YOU WILL SEE ME, BECAUSE I LIVE AND YOU WILL LIVE. ON THAT DAY YOU WILL REALIZE THAT I AM IN MY FATHER AND YOU ARE IN ME AND I IN YOU…
my words…We are now on the 6th Sunday of Easter and next Sunday would be Ascension Sunday commemorating the ascent of the Risen Christ into Heaven as a pledge of eternal life for us His beloved.
The promise of Jesus not to leave us “orphans” or not to abandon us has been signified in Matthew’s Gospel on his “literary book-ends” (meaning; appearing at the beginning and appearing again at the end). After the genealogy, the Archangel Gabriel announced to Joseph not to fear in taking Mary home as his wife, for this is to fulfill a prophecy that, “the virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and they shall name him “Emmanuel”, which means, “God is with us” (Mt 1:23). And at the end of his gospel, Jesus before ascending into heaven, told His disciples to do the mission of teaching and preaching the Good News to all the nations assuring them, “And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age” (Mt 28:20). Yes, in the divine plan, Jesus will never abandon us and He will always be with us until the end of time. How? The ever presence of the Holy Spirit in us and among us is the ever presence also of Jesus in us and among us. This is the mystery of the “in-dwelling” when He said, “I am in my Father and you are in me and I in you” (Jn 14:20).
Brothers and Sisters, this is the assuring LOVE of the Risen Lord for all of us. He is indeed always with us as He promised as He is Emmanuel = God with us. He is with us when the Holy Spirit descended upon us at our baptisms and strengthened us at our confirmations. The Risen Lord is the very reason why the Church He founded upon the 12 Apostles 2,017 years ago still exists today and will continue to exist until the end of time. The Advocate empowers the Church; the Risen Lord never leaves the Church orphan… He stays forever in the Church; Jesus forever stays with us for He is God with us = “Emmanuel”…
Brothers and Sisters, abandonment is painful… To leave the children orphans is a wound to the family. My dear parents let your children feel that the Holy Spirit is in you. Never let them feel that you are abandoning them and leaving them orphans by your absence, by your irresponsibility, by your meanness, and by not letting them feel that your Family is a “Church in the Home”. Please show them the Holy Spirit by empowering them with the fire of LOVE, affection, care, caresses, concern, and tender loving empathy. Let them feel that the Holy Spirit is working in the family. Show them that you love Jesus and Mama Mary, and that you love them so much. Above all, PRAY for families who do not have these feelings and atmospheres of LOVE. Show them Jesus and the Blessed Mother!
LET THE RISEN LORD AND HIS HOLY SPIRIT STRENGTHEN EVERY HOME AND FAMILY…
